The Faculty of Agronomy organized a national workshop on “Pastoral Systems in Lebanon – Between Scientific Research and Policy Making”, under the patronage of Minister of Agriculture Dr. Nizar Hani and in the presence of President Bassam Badran, Dean of the Faculty of Agronomy, Dr. Nadine Nassif, FAO representative Dr. Veronica Quattrola, Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture Engineer Louis Lahoud, in addition to diplomatic, security, scientific and union figures and a group of professors and students.
The workshop began with a speech by Dean Nassif, in which she referred to the conclusion of the project “Innovative Models for a Sustainable Future of Mediterranean Pastoral Systems (Pastinnova)”, funded by the European Commission under the Prima program for 2021, and the launch of pivotal prospects represented by the proposal of new policies for pastoral systems in Lebanon.
